‘Ain’t happening’… Eddie Hearn insists Dana White will not promote Fury vs Joshua despite announcement

Eddie Hearn is adamant that Dana White will not promote Fury vs. Joshua despite Netflix’s announcement this Thursday.

Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua was finally announced this Thursday morning after months of confusion and back-and-forth regarding locations.

Fury was adamant the fight was off earlier this month when he revealed he was once again going to chase another fight against Oleksandr Usyk instead.

And despite the official announcement from Netflix this Thursday morning, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn is remaining insistent that Zuffa Boxing will play no role in the promotion.

Hearn threatened White with a lawsuit for his role in the negotiations between Fury and Joshua and said that he would be barred from the event when it was finally made official.

Despite that, though, in Netflix’s announcement this Thursday morning, they revealed that Dana White would co-promote the event alongside Turki Alalshikh.

However, Hearn has exploded at the announcement saying that White isn’t allowed to be a part of it, once again throwing the fight into a questionable position.

“The f—— involved in this fight — and we’ll come onto the fact that even Netflix put out a press release (saying) ‘the fight will be in conjunction with Dana White.’ There’s loads of battles to come on that because that ain’t happening either,” Hearn told IFL TV.

“Dana White cannot be involved with this fight promotionally. Netflix clearly didn’t get the memo. You see, no one talks to each other. I speak to Sela and Turki, ‘No, Dana White is not involved in the fight. You’ve got a contract that says that. He won’t be at the presser’, blah, blah, blah. And Netflix say, ‘Oh yes, the fight is in conjunction with Dana White.’ It’s a little bit annoying, to be honest with. As I’ve shown through the UK battle that we won, we stand by our contract, and he cannot be involved in the fight.”

At this point, it seems as though the UFC and Zuffa Boxing boss has gotten the upper hand on Hearn amid their ongoing rivalry.

However, with Hearn continuing to threaten legal disputes, this rivalry doesn’t seem to be one that will be put to bed anytime soon, with Hearn claiming White ‘lost’.

“When I saw the press release, I just couldn’t stop p—— myself. You really got them to include your name in the press conference, you silly, soppy t–. It’s so petty. You’ve lost, mate. You did everything you could to bring the fight to America and rob the British fight fans of the fight. Give it up, son.” he continued.
