Ryan Garcia’s brother Sean Garcia lands knockdown while scoring first win in almost three years

Ryan Garcia’s family are off to a winning start tonight as his brother Sean scored a big comeback victory to open the show in Las Vegas.

Both Garcia and his rival Conor Benn have watched their brothers score wins this evening, with Harley Benn landing a farcical DQ victory in Newcastle on Misfits Boxing. A few hours later, ‘King Ry’ watched Sean Garcia land his first victory since December of 2023.

The younger Garcia faced a man seven years his senior in Abraham Morales, who held a 4-1 record heading into the fight. He scored a knockdown and had a point deducted in an explosive six rounds before having his hand raised.

Sean Garcia defeats Abraham Morales by Majority Decision

Sean Garcia made his return to the ring tonight after a lengthy absence. He was stopped by the son of a legend, Amado Vargas back in July of 2024, and took some time away before deciding to make his comeback on the same card as his brother.

With Ryan Garcia preparing to face Conor Benn in the main event, Sean opened the show with an impressive six round performance against Morales. He scored a knockdown in the third, but had the advantage taken in the fifth when excessive holding resulted in a point deduction.

One judge scored the bout a draw but the other two gave it to the younger Garcia, who is now 8-1-1 as a professional. After the fight, he paid tribute to his father in the corner, telling media: “My dad is a very smart man and I listen to him for the most part.

“When you’re in the ring you make decisions in the moment… I think I did great, hit him with that check hook and got a knockdown in my first fight back so I’m really happy.”
