Days before the Las Vegas Raiders get ready to take on the Miami Dolphins in their Week 1 opener, they received the unfortunate news that Pro Bowl tight end Brock Bowers was set to miss the first game of the season, and potentially more.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Bowers underwent a meniscus trim on Tuesday and that league sources expect him to “miss a game or two.”

After Bowers’ procedure on Tuesday, former Denver Broncos linebacker Su’a Cravens had some harsh words about the Raiders’ handling of the tight end’s injuries.

Su’a Cravens Has Blunt Take For Raiders’ Brock Bowers

Su’a Kristopher Cravens, who played for the Denver Broncos in 2018, posted on X:

“I’ve had my meniscus scoped 4 times. Was rushed back each time and tore it over and over again to the point I didn’t have a meniscus to scope. Now it’s bone on bone with a fracture that grows each year and is 10/10 pain to twist or turn and run. They’re gonna ruin this man’s career with injuries at this rate!”

Cravens himself had a tumultuous NFL career. After Washington drafted him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, he missed five games in his rookie season due to injuries.

He then stepped away before the 2017 season due to health concerns and considered retirement, but the NFL reinstated him before the 2018 season.

Although Cravens wanted to return to Washington, the team traded him to the Denver Broncos, where he played only five games in 2018 after a preseason knee injury.

Meanwhile, Bowers, who ranked eighth on PFN’s TE Impact Metric last season, missed five games in his sophomore season as he dealt with a bone bruise and a PCL injury in his left knee.

Bowers initially tried to play through the injury; however, he missed time as the team did not want him to aggravate it. Although the star tight end returned, his season was ultimately cut short as he underwent knee surgery toward the end of the season.

Hopefully, Bowers recovers fully from the procedure and does not suffer a similar fate to what Cravens described.
