Bybit launches 24/7 options trading on SpaceX and Nvidia

Bybit, one of the largest crypto exchanges by volume, is rolling out 24/7 options trading on shares of SpaceX and Nvidia. The move puts traditional equity derivatives on a platform built for crypto, available any time of day, any day of the week.

That’s a direct shot at the constraints of legacy stock markets, where options trading is bound by exchange hours and settlement windows.

What Bybit is offering

The new product lets traders buy and sell options contracts tied to SpaceX and Nvidia stock around the clock. For SpaceX, that’s particularly notable since the company remains private and its shares are notoriously difficult to access through conventional channels.

Nvidia, meanwhile, has become one of the most actively traded equities on the planet thanks to the AI boom. Offering options on it outside of Nasdaq’s operating hours gives traders the ability to react to after-hours news without waiting for the opening bell.

The always-on model mirrors how crypto markets already function. Bitcoin doesn’t take weekends off, and Bybit is betting that equity traders want the same flexibility.

Crypto exchanges eye traditional finance

Bybit isn’t the first crypto platform to push into stock-adjacent products, but the combination of 24/7 availability and options (not just spot exposure) raises the stakes. Several exchanges have experimented with tokenized equities and pre-IPO contracts in recent years, though regulatory scrutiny has kept the category from going fully mainstream.

The SpaceX angle is worth watching closely. Elon Musk’s rocket company doesn’t trade on any public exchange, meaning price discovery for its shares typically happens through secondary markets with limited transparency. A liquid options market, even one on a crypto exchange, could change how the market values one of the world’s most prominent private companies.

Why this matters for traders

For crypto-native traders, the appeal is straightforward: familiar infrastructure, familiar interface, new asset classes. For equity traders frustrated by market closures and settlement delays, Bybit is offering something traditional brokerages simply cannot.

The risk side is equally clear. Crypto exchanges operate under different regulatory frameworks than traditional securities venues, and the protections available to stock traders on regulated exchanges may not apply here. How these products are structured, whether as synthetic contracts, tokenized derivatives, or something else entirely, will determine how regulators respond.

Bybit’s bet is that demand for always-on trading will outpace regulatory friction. Given how aggressively crypto platforms have been expanding into traditional finance territory throughout 2025, they may not be wrong.
