Jeezy‘s “Legend of the Snowman” Las Vegas residency has made history again.
Over the weekend, the Atlanta native delivered two sold-out shows and the residency’s “grande finale” at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s PH Live. On Saturday, Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy II presented Jeezy with a proclamation naming August 22 “Jay ‘Jeezy’ Jenkins Day.” To add an element of suprise, NBA star and the 76ers’ latest addition LeBron James appeared on stage and presented Jeezy with the “Key to the Las Vegas Strip.”
“For 20 years, y’all been riding fam, for 20 years. We started this journey together 20 years ago, y’all,” a tuxed James told the crowd. “I want everybody to give a shout-out to my nigga, Jay. Mr. 17.5 did his own day in Las Vegas. I’m here to present you with the key to the city. It’s all yours.”
Last November, Jeezy’s “Legend of the Snowman” residency had another historic moment and earned the Guinness World Records milestone for the “Largest orchestra for a hip-hop music concert,” thanks in part to the backing 101-piece orchestra, Color of Noize Orchestra. With its 30-date concert run, “Legend of the Snowman” also stands as the longest-running hip-hop residency in Las Vegas history.
To keep the celebratory moment going, Jeezy announced nine added dates to his residency, including a show on New Year’s Eve.
