The official website for the television anime adaptation of Shinichi Sawaragi‘s Pen to Wappa to Jijitsukon (A Pen, Handcuffs, and a Common-Law Marriage) manga revealed the main cast, staff, teaser visual (pictured), and a teaser promotional video on Friday. The anime will premiere in January 2027.
Voice actors Tomoaki Maeno (Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu) and Inori Minase (Dead Mount Death Play) are starring the anime as Eiji Kirisame and Tsugumi Kuchinashi, respectively.

Sawaragi began serializing the mystery romance series in Young Animal in December 2022, illustrated by Tank Gasuyama. Hakusensha published the seventh volume on April 28.
Yen press licensed the manga in English in August 2025. The first volume went on sale on March 24, and the second volume is scheduled for release on September 22.
