  1. In early 2017, I inadvertently left my commuting bag in a McDonalds which had:

    – An OLED Vita with a 64GB memory card and a copy of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (delisted from PSN)

    – A DS/3DS game case which had every physical 3DS game I owned along with copies of 999 and Pokemon Black 2, Pokemon White 2, and Pokemon Conquest.

I’ve replaced the Vita with a 2000 and the 3DS games, but at this point replacing the DS games would probably cost me an entire paycheque.

I also somehow managed to have a copy of Tetris DS fall into a bag of bottles, but we did find it when I dropped them at the recycling depot and it still boots.

    • I left my commuting bag too – but at a bar, not McDonald’s. For some reason I had a copy of Daxter, one of the better PSP exclusives, in there. Think I was planning to trade it in. I never saw it again, but it was a good night out!

  2. I can’t remember what games might have been in the systems at the times these incidents occurred, but I had left a Game Boy Advance in a taxi, and a DS on a train. I got the GBA back fairly easily by calling the taxi company. I did get the DS back, but it involved going all the way to Penn Station in Manhattan (about a 45-minute train ride) to get to the Lost and Found.

  3. Years ago listening to Phil & Mike and others on RPG Backtrack, I heard them discussing SMT Devil Summoner Soul Hackers for the DS. Could’ve sworn that I looked around and got it cheap and used from GameStop. Years pass and I go to look for it one day as I hear about it on another podcast and think “didn’t I buy it?” Can’t find it anywhere, start to think I’m cray cray. A few weeks later I pull my 3DS out and I’m playing and during idle times running my fingers across the back of the grip/handle thing I have it in and notice a seam. Turn it over to re-discover it has a flap on back, and can hold 2 DS cards. What’s there? Soul Hackers!

  4. QOTW: I lost my PlayStation copy of Monster Rancher 2 eons ago. I never knew what happened to it and when I got married and moved out of my parents’ house I just chalked it up as one of those unsolved mysteries the little Robert Stack in my head would tell stories about someday.
Almost a decade goes by and my mother, who was doing some spring cleaning in her house calls me up and says, I have something I think belongs to you. I go over there and in one of those old paper sleeves is my copy of Monster Rancher 2. Scratched, beat up, and unusable, but it’s there. She says she found it in a box of miscellaneous stuff up in the attic. Now the Robert Stack in my head talks about the unsolved mystery about how in the hell did it get up there in the first place?
