The viewing figures for two historic MMA events have been compared by the likes of Jake Paul.

In May, MVP’s event from the Intuit Dome in California drew 17 million global viewers on streaming giant Netflix.

Dana White expected the UFC Freedom 250 card to vastly surpass this by targeting Super Bowl-like numbers on June 14.

With it now being confirmed that these predictions weren’t close to the actual figures, it was only a matter of time before Paul had his say on how both events performed.

Jake Paul compares MVP’s first MMA event to the UFC Freedom 250 card

Nearly 17 million people watched at least one minute of UFC Freedom 250 on June 14.

The numbers that the event drew aren’t directly comparable to the card that Most Valuable Promotions hosted on Netflix for various reasons.

That didn’t stop Jake Paul from posting a video on his Instagram story where he shared a post that compared the seven million average viewership of the UFC White House event in the United States to MVP doing 9.3 million.

“1st event vs 329th event, where y’all at UFC???,” he wrote.

The graphic he shared came from MVP’s social media platforms, where the promotion reflected, “An amazing month for the sport of MMA and its continued growth in popularity. Congrats to all of the fighters who made these events a success. For all those who doubted Ronda [Rousey] and Gina [Carano]…sorry for your loss.”

The UFC was in talks to host Rousey and Carano’s comeback matchup for some time before their broadcast deal with Paramount+ changed the negotiations significantly.

Throughout the build-up to the fight, Rousey specifically called out UFC’s Hunter Campbell for downplaying the bout and questioning how well it would perform.

Many have made the case since the UFC White House figures were revealed that several factors stopped the event from producing even more impressive numbers.

Taking place behind a paywall on Paramount+ instead of airing live on CBS will have had a big impact, not to mention the fact that it took place during the FIFA World Cup on a Sunday evening.
