Julian Lane went against his famous catchphrase and lost the fight as a result.

This past weekend, Darren Till won his BKFC debut when becoming the latest MMA fighter to make the switch to bare-knuckle boxing.

As proven by David Feldman’s disappointment about not getting to hand out more bonuses, the promotion has high standards when it comes to exciting fights.

One signing that appeared to be a match made in heaven for BKFC in that regard, Lane, recently paid the price for flipping the script.

Julian Lane gets disqualified for shooting a takedown at BKFC Fight Night: Hollywood

Last year, Julian Lane became a BKFC champion after the former MMA fighter seemingly found a ruleset that suits him better.

The 38-year-old will be known by MMA fans as the former ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ contestant who repeatedly told his teammates ‘let me bang, bro’ during a heated confrontation in the house.

While he’s adopted this catchphrase as his nickname, Lane’s return to the BKFC ring on Thursday night saw him get disqualified after he tried to do the opposite and shot for a takedown.

His opponent, Bryce Henry, appeared to be injured as a result of the double-leg, leading the referee to wave the bout off in the fourth round.

Despite Lane’s illegal move, many of the reactions from fans online chose to criticize Henry instead, speculating that he wasn’t injured but wanted his opponent to get disqualified.

Lane might have come into bare-knuckle from an MMA background, but he’s incredibly experienced in this ruleset.

He competed in BKFC for the first time back in 2017 and has faced opponents like Mike Perry, David Mundell, and Thiago Alves during his tenure.

Lane appeared on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ twice, first in 2012 before returning for the ‘Redemption’ season in 2017, though he was never signed to the promotion’s roster.
