Actor and comedian Alex Duong has died after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was 42.

Duong’s friend Hilarie Steele shared the sad news on Saturday in an update on the GoFundMe she created to raise funds for his cancer treatment.

“He was comfortable and thankfully out of pain,” Steele wrote.

Duong leaves behind his wife, Christina, and their daughter, Everest, 5.

“He was alert enough to say goodbye to his little girl, whom he has treasured every moment since the day she was born,” Steele continued.

“We are devastated, but so grateful for the support, prayers and generosity you have all shown during this unimaginable time.”

Steele wrote on Friday that Duong’s health had taken a turn for the worse.

“He has gone into septic shock, a severe and life-threatening infection that has overwhelmed his body,” she wrote. “He is in the hospital, and the situation is critical. Everything has changed so quickly.”

At the time, she asked for donations to go toward emergency medical care and hospital costs, rent, food and basic living expenses.

On Sunday, Steele said the family was “overwhelmed with gratitude” over the outpouring of support following the announcement of his passing.

“Please keep Alex and his family in your prayers,” she wrote. “Your support is carrying them through the hardest time of their lives.”

In 2025, Duong — best know for his appearances on “Blue Bloods” — was diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer affecting soft tissue.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, the condition typically affects older children, teenagers and adults between the ages of 20 and 35, and the cancer is aggressive, spreading quickly after it develops.

Duong’s credits include appearances on “Dexter,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “90210,” “The Young and the Restless” and “Pretty Little Liars.”
