SNL UK took us on a Jet2 Holiday to Ibiza, giving us a glimpse of British cosmopolitan travel culture: taking a two-and-a-half-hour flight to another country only to spend all your time in the tiny simulacrum of your home in that other country. But as someone who once had dinner at the Hard Rock Munich, I can’t say much.
A flight of tourists from Bristol go to España, which Jack Shep says is “the most beautiful place in the world. A country of art, culture, and culinary delights.” Then they all crowd in to the British-themed pub, where there’s no Spanish on the menu and chips (fries) come with every course. Also, there’s a Neil Diamond cover band. And just when we worry this tour group has hit a low to make Anthony Bourdain blush, host Jamie Dornan saves them all with a true cultural experience: the Irish-themed pub. Erin go bragh!
