What Cowboys fans thought of the picks in Round 1
In the run up to the draft, everybody seemed to be betting on the Dallas Cowboys to trade up in the first round. It turns out they did, but not by as much as everybody thought. They also traded down. The Cowboys made two big moves, and they are getting praised for both.
Now it’s your turn to be heard. We asked you to grade the picks of Caleb Downs at pick 11, and Malachi Lawrence at pick 23. Downs was secured after a quick trade up of one spot with the Miami Dolphins that cost two fifth-round picks. Lawrence was taken after trading back three spots with the Philadelphia Eagles, and basically receiving a couple of fourth-round picks in return.
As you might have guessed, the grade for Caleb Downs is about as unanimous as we’ve ever had in a poll. 93% of respondents gave it an ‘A’ grade.
As for Malachi Lawrence, 50% gave it a ‘B’ and 28% gave it an ‘A’. We’ll meet close to the middle and call it a ‘B+’.
