What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I decided to be a football player, because I loved being under the lights and being able to compete at a high-level while being able to build genuine friendships with coaches and teammates over time. Football caught my interest early in life, so it just grew over time as something I wanted to excel at in my life.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My first favorite moment was winning the national championship at the school that gave me the opportunity to make a name for myself, and it was just something that seemed so far to achieve but we worked for it and it’s something that will go down in history. My second favorite moment was beating Ohio State in the Big 10 championship, because knowing the history between our two schools, I felt like we were counted out and hadn’t got the respect we earned all year so that was special to start our playoff run. My third favorite moment was stripping the ball from a running back in junior college and running it back for a touchdown to win the game with less than a minute left.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I’m looking forward to excelling at the next level no matter what my role may be, because it was a long journey to get there and it took a lot to even be at this point, so I’m ready to take my game to a new level and be the best player I can be.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I’d pick Derwin James, I say this because I respect his game and how he plays, and I’ve talked with people who know him and the things that he does to be an elite safety in the NFL, so just learning from him and translating the little things to my game physically and mentally could go a long way.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

I would say my brother, because he challenges me to be better from a competitive standpoint and taking that with me into a team workout or anything in life standpoint I want to be the best and give the best representation of myself everytime.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite defensive scheme is an 4-2-5, because I feel that the nickel player has to be physical in the run fit and able to cover the pass game, and it allows more speed to be on the field opposed to another linebacker and those perimeter runs or screens can be met with speed quickly. Also, with a defensive back, disguises can help better with blitzes and just doing more.

What should we know about Louis Moore the person?

Louis Moore cares more about the person before the athlete, coach, or whatever the title may be, because at the end of the day when the cleats and pads come off we all have our own personal lives and people go through things and just need someone to be there for them and I pride myself on trying to be that for people. Louis Moore just likes to have a good time with whoever he comes in contact with, I’m very outgoing and just like to laugh and enjoy the time we have. God plays a major role in my life and how I operate so alignment with that brings me peace in my everyday life.

What stands out about your film the most?

The thing that stands out the most about my film is my willingness to run to the ball, because with that it just shows my effort and that I’m not afraid of contact. Running to the ball doesn’t take talent, it’s all about want to and I love to get there and hit whoever has the ball as well as maybe finishing off a tackle if my teammate needs it or even if I do. Good things happen by just being around the ball and the ball is the most important thing on the field, so being around it and playing defense allows me to make an impact on every play so I just try to get there as fast as I can after reading my key and if it’s in the framework or job description for my play. Another thing that stands out is that I just do my job and execute game plans and I do what my coaches ask me to do which allows be to be successful. I feel the effort I play with and execution while making game changing plays are the three things that describe my game.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

With life challenges, I just pray for strength and guidance from God to get through them. Life has presented its challenges in my life, but through faith, I learn from them and it definitely has shaped me into the person I am today. With football, I love challenges because it just makes me turn into a better athlete or football player. The challenge puts the pressure on to figure it out and correct whatever it may be. I believe in pressure makes diamonds or bust pipes so if I’m the person/athlete I say I am, then I’ll figure it out. The challenges in both aspects of my life have truly molded me into who I am and how strong I feel I am mentally.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a player who understands it takes everything you have to win at the highest level. I see the meetings, the film study, the recovery, the nutrition, the weight room and everything else at the same level of importance just as practice and the game in order to be successful. They are getting a player that’s not going to cheat the grind, because I understand the game can humble you as much as it praises you. A team is getting a competitor and someone who will work effectively with his teammates and coaches to put the team in the best position to succeed. Off the field, I’m a guy with no issues and I feel like I’m likable to work with and won’t be a hassle in any manner.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the lessons that come with it. I love the lifetime relationships built and the brotherhood that I’ve made with guys from around the world. I love that the game makes me be the best version of myself that I can be. It teaches discipline and builds character, while allowing me to just have fun with something I did as a kid. It’s just a special experience and I’m blessed to be able to do what I do in the game of football.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

The most underrated player I’ve played with is Devan Boykin. He was an all-conference performer in the ACC, and he came to Indiana with all the success that we had as a team and defensively, he was our highest graded defender. I felt like he should’ve been an all-conference honoree this past season. He was a game changer in the Rose bowl game and just played consistently well all year and got better by the game as well as being a special team guy displaying effort and making plays. He played three positions in our defense and executed at all three, and his numbers were very productive and that doesn’t even tell the whole story. I guarded other teams’ slot receivers every down or blitzed effectively which led to some of my interceptions and he was able to beat blocks and win the run game and he’s able to be a versatile player in any defense. I feel like his tape can compare with the top safeties in the country and he’ll make people believe wherever he ends up.
