For anyone who’s still chasing the high—and heat—of Heated Rivalry.

Heated Rivalry may have taken over your feeds for its shockingly graphic sex scenes between two extremely hot gay hockey players, but it’s far from the only LGBTQ+ gem that’s steamy, horny, and downright unforgettable. Thankfully, as cinematography has evolved, so has mainstream media’s portrayal of intimacy across the spectrum of sexuality—we get sweet, wholesome love stories and the feral humping, moaning, and orgasming that used to only live in soft-core porn.
Whether you’re looking for slow-burn tension or unfiltered, penetrative passion, here are the best LGBTQ+ movies on Netflix—plus, a handful of shows for good measure.
1. The Hunting Wives
A motel hookup might be sketchy or gross to some, but Margo and Sophie (played by Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow) make it hot. “There’s a hunger to Margo that viewers can feel,” Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, PhD, certified sexologist and professor of human communication at California State University, Fullerton, tells SELF—not to mention, lesbian cunnilingus.
2. Orange Is the New Black
A classic, but for good reason. While prison sex isn’t exactly aspirational, there’s something about the raw clitoral stimulation sequences (which there are plenty of) that’ll get your heart racing.
3. Bridgerton
No surprise that a series full of hot people being with hot people is on this list. But in season three, you’ll be treated to a memorable three-way scene between Benedict Bridgerton, Paul Suarez, and Lady Tilley.
4. Blue Is the Warmest Color
This three-hour-long French drama has received both widespread praise and a fair share of deserved criticism—but there’s no denying its unrestrained showcase of eroticism between two young women starting a passionate yet complicated affair.
5. Sense 8
The Netflix series premiered in 2015 and made waves for its trippy storyline about eight psychically linked strangers. Though it was eventually canceled, the show remains a landmark for LGBTQ+ representation, delivering one of the hottest orgy scenes made for the small screen.
6. Young Royals
Much of the intimacy leans more sensual than raunchy—think heavy make-outs and muffled moaning. But it’s that slow burn and restraint between two students at an elite boarding school that makes their NSFW scenes so emotionally charged and memorable.
7. Elite
If you need a convincing endorsement, even drag queens Trixie Mattel and Kayta were scandalized by this Spanish drama. Elite follows a group of working-class students who receive scholarships to an ultra-exclusive private school, where social class warfare quickly spirals into betrayal, murder, and an absurd amount of horniness. Think Gossip Girl turned all the way up: multiple threesomes, a risky “dry” blowjob in a nightclub, and an iconic steam-soaked towel party.
8. Honey Don’t
Margaret Qualley and Aubrey Plaza make for an unexpected duo in this 2025 dark comedy, which serves up everything from fingering in broad daylight to more explicitly kinky moments with cunnilingus, choking, and handcuffs.
9. Black Mirror: San Junipero
While not the most sexually explicit, the fourth episode in season three of the dystopian anthology series delivers a brief but steamy hookup between introvert Yorkie and party girl Kelly. It captures the thrill, nervousness, and electric intensity of young love—the kind of heat that lingers long after the scene ends.
10. Shameless
Since its premiere in 2011, Shameless has captivated its loyal audience with the Gallagher family’s dysfunctional antics. In particular, Ian and Mickey’s early relationship featured a few sexual moments that brought heat and adrenaline to the series. It’s worth noting that the circumstances of their romance aren’t always the sexiest (given Mickey’s father’s homophobia), but the general risk (and larger thrill) of sneaking your lover over while your parents are home will ring too true for many.
11. Heartstopper
A coming-of-age series about two teens navigating young love, “Heartstopper somehow manages to portray sex in ways that are both sweet and educational without being unsexy,” Casey Tanner, LCPC, certified sex therapist and expert at LELO, tells SELF. “Unlike romantic comedies that portray intimacy as seamless and steamy every time, this movie takes its audience for a more realistic ride, portraying sex that is sometimes awkward, sometimes playful, sometimes amorphous.”
12. Duck Butter
In an attempt to fast-track their instant connection, two women impulsively decide to spend 24 consecutive hours together, agreeing to hook up once every hour. “This unique premise allows the movie to showcase all the different ways that queer sex can look,” Gabrielle Kassel, a queer sex educator and journalist, tells SELF. Most of its scenes won’t give you perfectly-timed orgasms shaped by the male gaze—but that, Kassel argues, is what makes Duck Butter one of the most beloved LGBTQ+ movies on Netflix: “They’re deliberately unglamorous, giving viewers an honest look at the sometimes awkward, messy, very human nature of queer sex.”
13. The Perfection
Allison Williams, whom you’ll recognize from Girls and Get Out, stars in this psychological thriller about a rivalry between two obsessively ambitious cellists. There are multiple plot twists we won’t spoil, but we will tease a sensual lesbian sequence that starts on a sweaty dance floor before spilling into a bedroom with breathy groans, a few position switches, and a rare kind of passion born from long-simmering tension.
