Alexander Volkanovski has made it very clear who he wants to defend his title against next.
Before this past weekend, Volkanovski said that he wants the challenge of fighting Movsar Evloev because of the style that he brings to the table.
Evloev’s win over Lerone Murphy at UFC London made it look like the featherweight champion will have his wish granted in the near future.
However, Jean Silva is still confident that he should get the next title shot, and he’s willing to take drastic measures if it happens.

Jean Silva says he’ll retire if Alexander Volkanovski beats him in response to his comments
Jean Silva believes that he should be Alexander Volkanovski’s next opponent because he’s the total package that the UFC is looking for.
While he’s always been a champion that is happy to face whoever the promotion puts in front of him, Volkanovski has urged them to not book Silva as his next challenger.
The Brazilian recently responded to ‘The Great’ arguing that he needs to fight the top contender in the division because it’s better for his legacy.
“Right now, honestly, I don’t want to bad mouth him or anything but he looks like an old man running around,” Silva said on The Ariel Helwani Show via a translator. “I know age is gonna come for everyone of us, it hasn’t come for me yet. Here I am for him… Let’s just stop all the BS. Think straight about it. Let’s go in, let’s exchange some strikes and I’ll say more. If Volkanovski wins, I’ll leave the UFC. That’s what I’ll say.”

Silva also made the case that he’d be the most meaningful fight for the champion because he’d be the one trying to prevent him from breaking Jose Aldo’s record for the most featherweight title wins.
He told MMA Fighting last week that he’d want to have Aldo in attendance to hand him the belt and pass the torch to him when he brings the 145-pound gold back to Brazil.
