Women’s downhill will be the first medal event of Day 2 at Milan Cortina. All eyes will be on Team USA’s Lindsey Vonn, who successfully completed two training runs after rupturing her ACL on Jan. 30. Defending downhill world champion and Team USA athlete Breezy Johnson is a podium contender, while Italy’s Sofia Goggia enters the event as a two-time Olympic medalist.

The final three segments of the figure skating team event unfold Sunday, culminating in medals for the top three teams after the men’s free skate. The U.S. leads Japan by five points after the first two days of competition. U.S. national champion Amber Glenn is slated to make her Olympic debut in the women’s free skate. Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea will take the ice in pairs, and Ilia Malinin returns for the free skate after a short program he will aim to improve upon at these Games.

In parallel giant slalom, Czechia’s Ester Ledecka could become the first snowboarder ever to win a gold medal at three consecutive Winter Olympics. In women’s big air, the field of riders — headlined by New Zealand flagbearer Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Japan’s Kokomo Murase and Great Britain’s Mia Brookes — will try to make the cut for Monday’s final.

Sweden can punch its ticket to the medal round, while France seeks its first Olympic victory. Both teams the U.S. has defeated — Czechia and Finland — also compete.

The final two runs of men’s singles take place. Germany’s Max Langenhan set a track record in the first round and then set another in the second.

The gold-medal favorite heading into the men’s 5000m is Sander Eitrem. The Norwegian speed skater became the first man to skate the 5000m in under 6 minutes, posting a world record time of 5:58.52 at the Inzell World Cup on Jan. 24.

If you don’t already, get ready to know the name Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo. This could be a record-breaking Games for the 29-year-old Norwegian, and he’ll get his quest started with the men’s skiathlon on Sunday.

On Saturday, Great Britain became the first team to clinch a spot in the semifinals of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. Now the only remaining undefeated team heading into the fifth day of the mixed doubles tournament, Great Britain will face off against Switzerland at 8:35 a.m. ET.

Two-time reigning world champion France is the medal favorite in the lone mixed biathlon event. Norway has won two golds and one silver since the event was introduced in Sochi.
