Warhammer Underworlds Roadmap has been confirmed, and thankfully it shows off a lot more than the other roadmaps GW released this year.
After the reveal of the new edition of Warhammer Underworlds a few weeks back, which surprised many. Games Workshop have now fired off an Underworlds Roadmap to prepare fans for 2025. Crucially, it does seem like GW is setting this release up to start in 2025, with it appearing that we won’t get a lot of this in 2024. We suspect all we see is the new starter box, but we realistically only have about five more weeks of “new” releases from GW before the Christmas period – and one of those will be taken up by the Battleforces.
So, onto Warhammer Underworlds – let’s have a look at what is coming “soon” in 2025.
Warhammer Underworlds Roadmap
It looks like a good year ahead of Warhammer Underworlds. A game that, if we’re honest, we thought might be getting put out to pasture.
New box, old Stuff
Probably the best announcement of the reveal is the new multi-army boxes that are being released. Featuring four units with each box themed around one of the four Grand Alliances. Each box will contain the relevant fighters and warscroll cards.
The box includes – Hexbane’s Hunters, Myari’s Purifiers, Thundrik’s Profiteers and Ylthari’s Guardians
Despoilers and Daemons
The box includes – Khagra’s Ravagers, Ephilim’s Pandaemonium, the Dread Pageant, and the Gorechosen of Dromm
Revenants of the Realms
The box includes – Headsmen’s Curse, the Crimson Court, Kainan’s Reapers, and the Grymwatch –
Brutes and Bandits
The box includes – Grinkrak’s Looncourt, Blackpowder’s Buccaneers, Da Kunnin’ Krew, and Morgok’s Krushas
Warbands of Embergard Cards
For people who already own the gangs mentioned in this post, GW will be selling a card pack for people to play. The box will contain all four Grand Alliance card sets, with no news on any Grand Alliance-specific boxes, though depending on the price it probably won’t be a bad deal.
Warhammer Underworlds Roadmap The Rest
For the warbands not mentioned, and not included in the box set – they will received free online cards for players to download. So far, we’ve had confirmation that we will get two brand-new warbands. Which should put the release period total to 20 warbands and six decks. These two new warbands will be revealed soon, and we’ll add them to this article.
The game will also get quarterly balance updates going forward. The updates will be based on “matched play” and will get an article in Warhammer Community to go alongside it.
