An 18-year-old man convicted in connection with the 2023 shooting death of Rocky Mountain College football player Chandler Stalcup was sentenced this week to 60 years in prison, with 10 years suspended.
Garrett Door III received the sentence on Monday from Yellowstone County District Judge Thomas Pardy after being found guilty of deliberate homicide by accountability. According to court records, Door was driving the vehicle when his passenger allegedly shot Stalcup.
Stalcup had been in the area during the early morning hours to pick up a friend who had been at a house party where a fight had broken out. Prosecutors stated that Door had been knocked out during the altercation near the 1800 block of 15th Street West.
Afterward, Door and his friends, including DeCrane, began searching for another group, likely seeking revenge. Authorities confirmed that Stalcup was an innocent victim, as he neither attended the party nor had any involvement in the fighting that followed.
DeCrane is also facing a homicide charge as an adult.
