As injuries continue to pile up along the offensive line for the Seattle Seahawks, the team is reuniting with Jason Peters.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Seahawks are expected to sign the nine-time Pro Bowler to their practice squad.
The offensive line has been a massive problem in Seattle so far this season. ESPN metrics ranks that unit in the bottom four in the NFL in both pass-block and run-block win rate.
Geno Smith was sacked three times and hit nine times in Monday’s 42-29 loss to the Detroit Lions. Aidan Hutchinson and Alim McNeill were credited with a combined 16 pressures.

Aidan Hutchinson generated a career-high 10 pressures on 54 pass rush snaps against the Seahawks (18.5%), the most pressures by any player in a game this season.

Lions DT Alim McNeill recorded six total QB pressures against the Seahawks in Week 4 (second most of any IDL this week).
It’s the second most of his career for a single game (10 – Week 11 2022 @ NYG) and is three more than he had in Weeks 1-3 combined this season.
Smith has adjusted to make up for the lack of protection. His time to throw of 2.65 seconds is the fifth-fastest among all quarterbacks with at least 100 attempts this season.
Guards Anthony Bradford and Laken Tomlinson were on the injury report prior to Monday night, but both players were able to start against the Lions. Right tackle Abraham Lucas has yet to appear in a game this season after undergoing offseason knee surgery.
The Seahawks placed Lucas on the physically unable to perform list in August. Sunday’s game against the New York Giants marks the first game he is eligible to play, but there’s been no indication at this point that he is on track to return.
Even with Lucas out of action, the primary issue for the Seahawks’ offensive line was on the interior.

This marks the second straight year that the Seahawks will have signed Peters during the season. He joined the team’s practice squad in September 2023 after Lucas and Charles Cross were injured.
Peters, who will turn 43 in January, appeared in eight games and made two starts for Seattle last season.
