The third week of Monday Night Football showcased a pair of 2 good teams in the Detroit Lions and the Seattle Seahawks. The first half of this game was pretty entertaining to watch. The Lions got the night started with a David Montgomery touchdown run to get off to a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter. The Seahawks looked like they were going to answer back, until a promising drive came to an end because of a D.K. Metcalf fumble. This resulted in another Lions touchdown. The Seahawks did eventually score a touchdown to make the game 14-7. The Lions however scored again on a Jahmyr Gibbs run taking a 21-7 lead to halftime.
The second half of this game was electric. Big plays from both teams were made to make this one of the best Monday Night games so far this season. The Seahawks started the second half off with a touchdown to make it a one score game. The Lions however answered back with a touchdown pass to Jared Goff, yes you did read that correctly Jared Goff did indeed have a touchdown reception in this game. Goff also threw a 70-yard touchdown to Jameson Williamson. That didn’t stop Kenneth Walker from running wild this game though, as he racked up 3 touchdowns and 116 yards of total offense in his return from a 2-game absence. Walker’s efforts weren’t enough though as the Detroit Lions win 42-29 behind a perfect game from quarterback Jared Goff, going 18 for 18 for 292 yards and 2 passing touchdowns.
This was an exciting game between too really good teams. The Lions offense finally looked like how we all thought it would before the start of the season. When the Lions offense is at its best, they are a very tough team to stop. On the other hand, the Seahawks battled in this game, put up a good fight throughout. Their offense can be high powered as well with guys like D.K. Metcalf and Kenneth Walker leading the way for them. Their defense needs some upgrades though as this has been their problem for a while now. These two teams are going to be around during playoff time, which will be very interesting to watch.
