Conor McGregor’s recently rumored boxing fight in India against Logan Paul could be in jeopardy but KSI has put his name into the hat to replace his business partner.
Having been away from the UFC for over four years now, Conor McGregor is looking to make his return to combat sports in 2025.
With that, the former UFC double champion bizarrely recently revealed that he was in preliminary talks for a boxing fight against Logan Paul, to take place in India.
Things really seemed to pick up steam and it was even announced that the two would fight in the Wankhede Stadium as part of a ‘Visit India’ tourism campaign, with a $500m payout attached to it.
Logan Paul offers update regarding his future in combat sports
‘The Notorious’ even hinted that as Paul and McGregor are both under the TKO banner, the UFC would be involved in the negotiations for the fight, once again making exceptions for their biggest star.
However, since the initial influx of news regarding this potential super fight, talks seem to have slowed down and Logan Paul recently dropped a huge hint that the fight might not even be happening.
This past Monday, the WWE held their inaugural event on Netflix, and of course, ‘The Maverick’ was part of the storyline from the historic event.
Paul joined the WWE in 2022 and has continuously blown fans away with his skills inside the wrestling ring considering his little experience in it. Despite that, he has never fought under the WWE banner full-time and has always continued with his other endeavors on the side.
But the 29-year-old seems to have had a change of mind regarding his combat sports career, admitting on Monday that he is now ready to dedicate his life to the WWE and stop with ‘side hustles’.
“I get it, I would hate me too,” Paul said during a trademark heel promo during the episode of Monday Night Raw.
“I don’t ‘respect the process’. I’ve never fallen in line’ or ‘waited my turn’, but you know what must really keep you up at night? I’ve been so good at this. And now? I’m dedicating my life to this, no more side hustle, no more bulls***. 100 percent WWE superstar,” Paul claimed.
With Paul seemingly willing to throw away his potential fight against Conor McGregor, his business partner, KSI has thrown his name in the hat to replace him.
KSI offers to fight Conor McGregor following Logan Paul’s update
‘The Nightmare’, KSI was one of the internet sensations that sparked the beginning of the influencer boxing era and he now even co-owns his own influencer boxing promotion, Misfits.
The YouTuber made his professional boxing debut in October 2023 against Tommy Fury after several amateur boxing bouts against the likes of Logan and Joe Fournier.
Despite losing against ‘TNT’ Fury, the PRIME Hydration owner has thrown his name in the hat following his business partner’s update.
“Not rumored. I’m very down,” KSI replied to a tweet suggesting there are rumors of a bout between him and McGregor.
Although it seems unlikely, McGregor has previously called out the internet sensation for a boxing fight when they were both in attendance for Anthony Joshua’s fight against Robert Helenius.
“I know your man KSI is in the crowd, yeah, and he couldn’t box eggs if he worked in an egg boxing factory so if he wants to get in here I’ll give him a fight bare-knuckle if he wants,” McGregor said in the ring.
