A Minnesota Youth Football Player and his family are seeking an apology from a Minnesota Football Coach, after a coach grabbed a defender by the face mask during the game.
A photo taken above, shows, Blooming Prairie coach grabbing the facemask of a Byron student athlete.
Police were called to a game between Byron and Blooming Prairie after the incident.
A Byron mother was filming her son’s game when she caught the unexpected interaction right on camera.
A Byron defensive back not named due to his age, was pushing his opponent out of bounds, when the Coach grabbed the kid by the helmet’s facemask and throwing him to the ground.
The Blooming Prairie Police Department told KTTC the incident is still an ongoing investigation, and no information can be released at this time.
The Byron Youth Football Association released this statement:
“The Byron Youth Football Association is dedicated to ensuring a safe and positive experience for our players and for players in our surrounding communities. We support the safety and wellbeing of all members, including the player and family involved in this incident. We will continue to monitor the situation but cannot comment on an ongoing investigation.”
